Meaning and History

Brown Bears Logo History

The modern era of the logo for this university organization began in 1997 when it was redesigned. The key role was given to the brown bear, the mascot of the athletes. For its dark fur color, size, and powerful head, it was nicknamed the wild beast of the American forests. The animal is positioned face-on with outstretched arms embracing the word “Brown.” The second part of the team name, “Bears,” is located below and typed in a smaller font. It is preceded by a red-figured ribbon with bifurcated ends. The lower part of the emblem features a bear paw print.
