Davidson Wildcats Logo

Davidson Wildcats are nineteen sports teams from Davidson College. They participate in the Atlantic 10 Conference in all sports except wrestling: A-10 is not a sponsor of teams, so wrestlers had to stay in Southern Conference. Footballers represent the institution at NCAA Division I FCS inter-university competitions and are members of the Pioneer Football League collegial conference. The official nickname of the teams is Wildcats. The traditional colors are black and red, although, in 2008, some athletes got a red and white uniform.

The Davidson Wildcats logo is a reflection of their name. The logo shows the head of a wildcat that presses its ears and rocks its teeth. It warns of the danger of approaching it and shows its rivals its main weapon – sharp fangs. The style has changed repeatedly. Between 1985 and 2009, the emblem was like an unfinished sketch. The artists paid attention to details, but since the drawing was made in the white and black palette, it looks more like a pencil sketch.

In 2010, the designers changed the graphics, moving from a realistic style to an animated one. Now the wild cat is depicted schematically. The background is a small red diamond, which is located exactly in the center. At first, the color of the geometric figure was close to the bloody color. After the logo was updated, a bright raspberry shade was used.
